Hi, my name is
I am a Land artist and urban sculptor,
who has spent 12 years creating sculptures for streets and parks.
My main primary materials has been wood and I’ve carved on tree trunks remain to make them wooden sculptures as part of my work.
In the field of Land Art, my vibrant knitted decorations wrapping the trees along Vali-e Asr Street in Tehran have been a cherished contribution to celebrating spring for several consecutive years.
Some of my works have also gained attention at international biennales, including the Thoughtful Material Biennale in China and Uzbekistan.
I LOVE NATURE
In recent years, my focus and interest have been on collecting pieces of wood from my surroundings. I no longer wish to carve any trees. Instead, by carefully gathering scattered wood from the world around me and combining it with my handmade materials, I create unique and innovative forms.
My handmade material is papier-mâché, which I have strengthened, made durable, and waterproof using my new formula. This allows me to create large, solid forms that can even be used in outdoor environments. I developed this approach based on my past experiences with using long lasting materials, and I am constantly working to improve the quality of both the material and my techniques.
Trees are cut down due to consumerism and luxury-driven lifestyles. I collect small branches of these felled trees and construct a new, recycled tree. Wood is rare and precious, and I show a precious piece of wood in the middle of recycled materials. In my sculptures, wood shines like a jewel on a ring.
On the educational side, I share my knowledge with those interested in learning. This includes teaching the formula for durable and waterproof papier-mâché, techniques for combining it with wood, building structures for small and large sculptures, and encouraging creativity in sculpture.
